One Healthy You, To Go!

When you’re busy and always on the go, you have lesser time to prepare your own food. More often than not, what you whisk up yourself is a lot healthier from what you buy for takeout.

Compare the calories you can have from ordering an up-sized double cheese burger, greasy onion rings or fries, and soda to that of a turkey sandwich with 2 whole grain slices of bread, some mayo and pickle relish, and a freshly squeezed orange juice to go with it. You do not have to bring in the calculator to compute up the calories because it is evident even by just looking at it that you are taking in more calories from your takeout meal.

Just the same, people tend to eat faster taking in big bites of to-go food. When ordinarily, you should be eating small bites at a time to make you feel fuller ’til the next time you eat.

Order takeout less. If you’re overweight, your risk of heart disease doubles. But eating just one fewer restaurant or take-out entrĂ©e, which can easily pack in 1,000 calories, each week for a year can be enough to help you loose 15 pounds.

Now, there’s one healthy you coming up!
