Tent-Things-To-Do

May 5th, 2009 by admin

Camping would not be complete without an outdoors tent. It is a camping necessity that services the most important issue of human comfort outdoors – sleeping.

Sleeping outdoors and relying only on an outdoor tent pose a lot of safety issues. It should be safe from harsh weather, wild animals, and fire just to name a few. Prevention is better than cure in the case of harsh weather. One way of preparing for any harsh weather such as heavy rains, always check the seams of the tent and make sure that it is free from any holes or loose seams. And when buying outdoor tents, always consider the material used for it and see if it is water-proof. Next, to avoid fire in an outdoor tent, avoid using gasoline-based lamps to illuminate a tent. Flash lights and other battery-operated lamps should be used instead. And lastly, to keep your tent safe from wild animals, select the dark colored ones so that they will have a camouflage affect on the immediate surrounding which is the camping site. But most importantly, in order to not attract wild animals towards a tent, always turn off the light source inside it when going to sleep already.

After the basic issues of safety have been addressed, comfort is another aspect that should also be considered. The key to having a comfortable outdoor tent is pitching it in a uniform flat surface. Lastly, inflate an air bed inside it which will provide a better cushion for sleeping compared to a usual comforter.
