Your Doctor is Your Health’s Best Friend
People are often afraid to consult with their doctors. Some times, they wouldn’t even dare get near the hospital or a clinic if they are not feeling anything unusual at all. It is other people’s belief that you should only go see your doctor when you’re not feeling well; that there’s no reason to visit him when you’re perked up and feeling peachy.
The claim to this isn’t true at all. You can visit your doctor anytime for check-up on how well you’re doing or if there are any asymptomatic illnesses you might have. It’s like bringing in your car for an overhaul check-up. They’ll check your engine, oil, brakes and so on and after, you can have a better car to drive and you know exactly what would be better to do and what not to do to have a smooth-sailing drive.
Don’t be afraid to have yourself checked. Question your doctor. Ask what your cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar levels are. These can tell you how healthy your heart is now- and will likely be in five, ten or even 30 years. This can prove to be beneficial as you’ll be given advice on what to look out for with regards to your health. Remember, prevention is always better than cure.
